Hi, I’m Tom!
I have had a love of sports ever since I can remember!
I love basketball, and my favorite NBA team is the Sacramento Kings!
I fell in love with the Kings when my favorite player, Michael Jordan, retired in 1998 and I received a Kings Kids Club flyer in the mail.
Gerald Wallace was my FAVORITE Kings player growing up! I would stay up watching the early 2000s Kings blow teams out, just for the chance to see a few minutes of the ELECTRIC Wallace on the court!
I have been writing about the Kings for Overtime Heroics since 12/2019!
One random thing about me: I have been playing (Spikeball) roundnet competitively since 2011! I have been fortunate enough to travel to over 20 states competing in roundnet tournaments and teaching teachers how to teach the game!
I earned my bachelors and masters degree in kinesiology from Chico State University. During that time I worked as the team manager and strength of conditioning coach for the Chico State mens basketball team!
Previous to that, I ran cross country at American River College in Sacramento!
In terms of written publications – I published the first ever peer reviewed, scientifically backed study on roundnet, “A Descriptive Study of Roundnet”.
Go Kings!
-Tom
